Courtesy Call to Guest of Honour

The KK GB Group Council has met a courtesy call to the Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah YB Pang En Yin at his office on 10 July 2008. He received us warmly with tea and we had a good opportunity to let him know about the activities of The Girls' Brigade worldwide, in Malaysia and in Sabah. YB Pang also encouraged the committee to seek outside sponsorship in order to ensure the success of the camp.
He accepted our invitation to be the Guest of Honour at the Opening Ceremony of D Girls' Camp on 16 August 2008 5 pm. We will invite about 100 guests from Majlis Belia Sabah (State Youth Council) and other youth organisations to be at our opening ceremony.
The state government is most supportive in the endeavor of the Girls' Brigade in Sabah. The Girls' Brigade have been playing a key role in the State Youth Council and has a good rapport and working relationship with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Sabah. We are indeed thankful to the state government for their commitment and support in promoting healthy and wholesome activities for the youths.
D Girls'' Camp is a national level camp organised by the Girls' Brigade KK Group Council and it draws participants from all over Malaysia. The event will be held at Melinsung Summer Bay Apartment Resort, Papar. Most of the activities will be conducted there and each camper will spend a day at the KK Adventure Park.
The organiser hopes that all the campers will be given opportunity to learn from workshops, experience team-building and conquer personal challenges at the KK Adventure Park. They will experince the four-fold programme in total :- Physical, Spiritual, Educational and Social. This covers the core of training in The Girls' Brigade.
